Standoff ends peacefully in Knowlesville
KNOWLESVILLE — A standoff ended peacefully last night at 2:48 a.m. with the suspect taken into custody, Orleans County Sheriff Randy Bower said.
A person living on Knowlesville Road refused to come out of an apartment house at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday. That person had a rifle.
Multiple law enforcement agencies were on the scene for several hours and traffic was cut off from the road, keeping some residents out of their homes for several hours.
Bower said more information would soon be released.
