St. Mary’s tops Carlton as Albion Midget League heads to final week of regular season

St. Mary’s and Carlton played a high-scoring game on Thursday with St. Mary’s emerging with the victory. The two teams combined for 47 runs in makeup game from an earlier rainout.

Reuben Rivers led the St. Mary’s attack with five hits, including a home run and three triples for 10 RBIs. Jack Kinter had a perfect day at the plate, going 6 for 6 with two doubles.

Christian Swiercznski also had four hits, including a grand slam home run.

Jayce Ashton was the winning pitcher for St. Mary’s, striking out 8 in three innings. Nick Andrews pitched the final two innings.

Carlton was led by two home runs from Bryce Wilson, and a double and a grand slam home run from Sawyer Braley.

DeClan McCue and Dylan Narburgh both had three hits, and Isaac Napierala ripped a triple for Carlton.

The Midget League concludes the regular season this coming week with playoffs the following week.
