St. Mary’s edged past Sandstone 12-10 to highlight this past week’s Albion Midget League action.

Jayce Ashton was the winning pitcher for St. Mary’s and also had two hits. Zac Olles had the big hit for St. Mary’s, a 3-run home run in the fifth inning.

Jake Hughson hit a home run for Sandstone.

Sandstone rebounded to defeat Vets 6-3 on Thursday and Carlton 17-1 on Saturday.

Caleb Fox picked up the wi on the mound against Vets registering 7 strikeouts.

Hughson had 3 hits, including a pair of doubles, and Kyle VanAmeron 3 including a two-run double.

Zach Colacecchi hurled a 2 hitter with 11 strikeouts in the win over Carlton.

At the plate, Hughson had a grand slam home run, Chris Sacco 2 doubles and 4 RBIs and Nick Martino 2 hits including a three-run triple.

Rotary beat St. Mary’s 12-1 on Thursday, with Shawn Pellegrino and Zaire Reid combining to allow only one run for Rotary. Reed also hit a home run.

Rotary also posted a 7-2 win over Vets as Pellegrino pitched 3 innings of no hit ball. Dallas Ecker and Tristan Lusk led the hitting attack.

Barre trimmed Rotary 8-5 as Cade Wolcott had 3 hits and drove in 4 runs and Jake Foote and Tyler Gibson both had run producing doubles.

Reid had an RBI double for Rotary.

Barre also beat St. Mary’s 6-1 on Saturday as Zandyr Meakin struck out 13. Gibson had a 2-run double for Barre in the first inning, which proved the decisive runs.

Nick Radder got St. Mary’s on the board with an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Carlton nipped Vets 8-7 on a two-run walk-off home run by Damion Lattimer. Nate Olmstead also had a home run.

Carlton also edged past Barre 4-3 as Lattimer, Jayden Allport and Dylan Narburgh all had RBI hits.

Meakin and Foote both had RBI hits for Barre.

Standings: Carlton 5-3, Rotary 5-3, Sandstone 5-3, Barre 4-2, St. Mary’s 2-5, Vets 1-6.
