Southwestern downs Roy-Hart in B2 contest; Johnson Jr. sets scoring mark for the Rams
No. 16 seed Southwestern downed No. 9 Roy-Hart 62-46 in a Section VI Class B2 playoff contest this evening at Middleport.
Matthew Pannes scored a game high 33 points to set the pace for the Trojans which led 19-7 after the first quarter, 28-23 at the half and 46-41 at the three-quarter mark.
Jamel Johnson Jr. scored 17 and Nate Beyer 13 to lead Roy-Hart.
Johnson Jr. finished the season with a new school record total of 511 points breaking the old mark of 504 set by Tyler Guild.
Improving to 11-11, Southwestern next visits No. 8 Tapestry on Thursday with the winner taking on top seeded Salamanca in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
Roy-Hart finishes the season at 13-8.
In another Class B2 game, No. 10 Fredonia defeated No. 15 Akron 74-52.
