South Seneca girls oust Kendall

Avenging a loss in last fall’s sectional soccer title game, top seeded South Seneca defeated visiting No. 9 Kendall 59-19 this afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the Section V Class C2 girls basketball playoffs.

South Seneca, which dropped a 4-1 decision to Kendall in the Class C2 soccer championship game, was sparked offensively by three members of that squad as Kelsey Shaulis and Mackenzie Kenyon both scored 13 and Emily Larvanway 7.

Kendall, which suffered a setback when point guard Lizzie Rath injured an ankle just two minutes in and was unable to return, trailed 35-4 at the half.

Taylor ReQua led Kendall in scoring with 7 points as Maya Rutland had 6 andTaylor Rutland 4.

South Seneca advances to the semis with an 18-3 record while Kendall finishes the season at 7-14.
