Soccer sectional openers will feature local rivalry match ups

A pair of local rivalry match ups will highlight the opening week of local opening round sectional soccer competition.

In Section VI Class B2 girls competition, No. 8 seed Medina (4-11-1) will host No. 9 Roy-Hart (4-12) at 6 p.m. Monday. The two teams split a pair of regular season meetings.

Two other N-O Foes will also clash in a B2 opener at No. 5 Wilson visits No. 4 Akron at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

In Section V Class D1 girls action, No. 12 Lyndonville (6-10) will visit No. 5 Kendall (11-5) at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Lady Eagles downed the Lady Tigers 3-0 during their Genesee Region League meeting.

The No. 8 seed Kendall boys will also host a familiar foe in No. 9 Wheatland-Chili at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Class D1. The teams split a pair of G-R meetings during the regular season.

In Section V Class C1 boys competition No. 4 Holley will host No. 13 LeRoy at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The No. 10 Holley girls will face No. 2 Addison (15-0-1) at Wayland-Cohocton at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

In Section VI Class B1 girls action, No. 4 Albion (10-5-1) will host No. 5 East Aurora (7-6) at 6 p.m. Wednesday while No. 3 Newfane (11-2) Newfane will entertain No. 6 Springville (8-5-1) at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

In Section VI Class B1 boys action, No. 10 Albion will visit No. 7 Alden at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday while Niagara-Orleans League champion No. 3 Newfane will host the winner of the Dunkirk vs. City Honors game on Thursday.

The Section VI Class B 2 openers at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday will have No. 7 Medina/Lyndonville hosting No 10 Salamanca/Cattaragus Little Valley, No. 9 Eden at No. 8 Akron, No. 13 Roy-Hart at No. 4 Soutwestern ( 7 p.m.) and No. 3 Wilson hosting No. 14 Olmsted.
