6 wins for R-H girls at All-League swim meet

Contributed Photo – Earning first place honors at this evening’s annual Niagara-Orleans girls All-League Individual swim championship meet were from Roy-Hart Kayla Hagen, Holly DiMayo, Mandy Hill, Jenna Heiser and Madison Ohol; from Akron Rachel PeQueen, Marisa Maggione, Mindy Doktor and Madison Kaczmarek; from Newfane Lauren Gaughran and from Medina Grace Cogovan.

For the second year in a row Roy-Hart has taken top honors in six of 11 events at the annual Niagara-Orleana All-League Girls Individual Swim Championship meet held at Newfane.

Kayla Hagen repeated as an individual event double winner for Roy-Hart in the 100 Freestyle (:55.55) and 100 Backstroke (1:04.74).

Mandy Hill was also an individual event double winner for the Channel Cats repeating in the 200 Individual Medley (2:22.29) and also winning the 500 Free in a league record time of 5:29.22.

Hagen, Hill and Jenna Heiser also teamed up with Holly DiMayo to win the 200 Medley Relay for the second year in a row in a time of (1:59.30).

Hagen, Hill and Heiser also combined with Madison Ohol to repeat as the 400 Freestyle Relay champions in a league record time of 3:51.62.

Newfane’s Lauren Gaughran was also an individual event double winner as she repeated in the 200 Free (2:07.48) and also took the 100 Butterfly (1:05.90).

Medina’s Grace Cogovan won the 100 Breaststroke (1:18.45).

Akron’s Rachel PeQueen won the 50 Free (:26.31).

PeQueen also teamed up with Marisa Maggione, Mindy Doktor and Madison Kaczmarek to give Akron a win in the 200 Free Relay (1:47.06).

Roy-Hart also got second place finishes from Ohol in the 200 Free and 500 Free, Alex Fox in the Individual Medley and DiMayo in the Breaststroke.

Albion’s Michaela Pantano took second in the Butterfly as did Medina’s Hannah Heil in both the 50 Free and 100 Free..
