Silverbacks set for first 11 man football season

This past spring the fledgling Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville football team made its debut by competing in the Section V 8 Man Division.

Now the Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville squad is moving up to 11 Man competition as a member of the Section VI Class B2 Division. The Silverbacks will make their B2 debut at Albion next Friday evening.

“We’ve got a tough schedule in the B2 but I think we’ll be much improved from last season,” said Coach Joey Suhr. “We have a good core group.”

The Silverbacks return experience in seniors Brandin Allen (WR/DB), Mikey Burrows (RB/LB), Chris Graham (RB/LB), Andrew Hill (OL/DL), Zach Hill (OL/DL), Thomas Root (WR/DB), Drew Sandolfini (RB/LB) and Austin Schmitt (WR/LB) along with juniors Sam Doolan (OL/DL), Lucas Drees (OL/DL), Brayden Flynn (WR/DB), Payton Grabowski (WR/LB), Allen Heideman (OL/DL) and Logan Yolliver (OL/DL) and sophomores Josh Hahn (OL/DL) and Aidan Mescall (QB/DB).

The Silverbacks are also looking for contributions from junior Trenton Muck (QB), sophomores Jackson Webber (OL) and Jayden Swygert (QB) and freshman Jackson West (OL).

Schedule

September: 3 – at Albion, 7 p.m.; 10 – at Lew-Port, 7 p.m.); 18 – Maryvale, 7 p.m.; 24 – Maritime, 7 p.m.

October: 1 – at Burgard, 7 p.m.; 7 – Pioneer, 7 p.m.; 15 – at Cheektowaga, 7 p.m.; 22 – Lake Shore, 7 p.m.
