Silverbacks down Lancers on Homecoming

A quick two touchdown scoring burst late in the third quarter provided the margin of victory as Roy-Hart/Barker/Lyndonville celebrated Homecoming by defeating Lew-Port 23-7 in an interdivisional game this evening at Middleport.

Snapping a 7-7 tie, the Silverbacks regained the lead for good at 15-7 on a 6 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Trenton Muck to Dan Aquilina and a two-point conversion run by Wyatt Sherman with 5:43 to go in the third quarter.

The Silverbacks scored again just a minute later as a fumble recovery by Lucas Drees at the Lancers 42 set up a 12 yard touchdown run by Aiden Mescall and a two-point conversion carry by Sherman upping the lead to 23-7.

The Silverbacks defense also got another key fumble recovery in the fourth quarter by Josh Hahn.

The Silverbacks took a 7-0 lead with 2:27 to go in the second quarter on a 1 yard touchdown run by Muck and an extra point kick by John Konstanty.

However, the Lancers rallied to tie the contest on the final play of the first half on a 35 yard touchdown pass from Jake Quarantillo to Anthony Aversa and and extra point kick by Brody Burnham.

The Silverbacks defense though shutout the Lancers in the second half as RBL improves to 4-3 on the season.
