ALBION – Jaquan Ford, 28, of Dewey Avenue in Rochester is the motorcyclist killed Friday evening in Albion, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office said today.

Ford was riding his motorcycle south on Brown Road at about 7:30 p.m. when he collided with a pickup truck driven by Benjamin Metcalf of Albion.

Ford was ejected after the crash. He was taken by Mercy Flight helicopter to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Ford was travelling in excess of 100 miles per hour when he struck a truck that had turned from East Bacon Road onto Brown Road. The motorcycle hit the back side of the truck, just missing the driver’s side door. Metcalf wasn’t physically injured in the accident.

Michael Mele, the chief deputy for the Sheriff’s Office, said the speed of the motorcycle is a major factor in the crash.

The Sheriff’s Office is working with the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office and the State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit in investigating the accident.
