Sheriff’s Office doing child car seat check on Saturday at Dollar Tree
ALBION – The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office will be at the Dollar Tree parking lot in Albion on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to do a child car seat check. The Dollar Tree is located at 330 West Ave.
Kevin Colonna, a certified technician with the Sheriff’s Office, will inspect car/booster seats to assure that children are in the correct seat for their size and age.
According to data, vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children ranging from 1 to 13 years of age. Preventative measures, such as proper installation of car seats, boosters and seat belts can lower many deaths and injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Informing and instructing parents and caregivers on child safety and proper installation of car seats is critical to saving young lives.
Adults and children over the age of 2 attending this event are required to wear a mask and adhere to safe distance protocol.
