Sheriff issues travel advisory due to icy road conditions in Orleans County

Sheriff Randy Bower has issued a travel advisory for Orleans County. We are currently experiencing heavy icing conditions with heavy rain and freezing rain with a temperature of 28 degrees.
We ask the public to please use extreme caution and reduce speed during this weather event. Sheriff’s Deputies and State Troopers are currently working several accidents in the county at this time.
Highway Departments across the county had all their crews in and were pre-salting and sanding the roadways in anticipation of this event.
The Sheriff’s Office will continue to monitor this weather event and provide updates as needed.
