ALBION — In the month of October, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department 911 Dispatch Center processed 2,159 police incidents, including 947 events for the Sheriff’s Road Patrol, 208 for the New York State Police and 1,004 calls for the village police agencies of Albion, Holley, Lyndonville and Medina.
There were also 622 Fire/EMS-related calls dispatched countywide with 475 of those calls emergency in nature and three drug overdoses.
Sheriff’s Department road deputies handled 57 automobile accidents, including four with injury and 40 car-deer collisions. Road patrol also made 116 service attempts and successfully served 53 subpoenas, civil or court papers.
The Sheriff’s Animal Control Division handled 118 incidents with 26 stray or loose animals, two animal bite complaints, nine neighbor-dog problems, and several other miscellaneous animal calls. In addition, nine animals were taken in to the shelter on a voluntary surrender.
