Shelridge crowns club champions

In a pair of thrillers, Shelridge County Club crowned its club champions this past weekend.

Melissa Cotter captured her second straight women’s club championship by edging out Melinda Whiting on the first hole of a sudden death playoff with a 20 foot par putt.

Alex Misiti made up seven shots on the final round to nip defending champion Brandon Grzywacz for the men’s title by one stroke.

Misiti shot a 72 on the final round finishing with a 235 total, one better than Grzywacz’s 236.

Brett Decker finished in third place at 242 while Andrew Misiti was fourth at 247 and Tom Hungerford fifth at 250.

The top two finishers in each of the four flights were as follows:

A Flight – 1st Tom Morien, 2nd Mark Rydza.

B Flight – 1st Steve Barnes, 2nd Gary Murphy.

C Flight – 1st Dave Bellucci, 2nd DC Colonna.

D Flight – 1st Frank Vekich, 2nd Jon Dorin.

In the women’s tournament the top two finishers in each flight were as follow:

A Flight – 1st Melinda Whiting, 2nd Vicki Dorin

B Flight – 1st Sharon Zacher, 2nd Val Peters

C Flight – 1st Dawn Fox, 2nd Delia Tee
