Severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 7 p.m.
Special Marine Warning also issued on Lake Ontario
The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 7 p.m. for Orleans and the following counties: Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Niagara, Monroe, Wayne, northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, Ontario and Chautauqua.
The National Weather Service in Buffalo also has issued a Special Marine Warning for Lake Ontario from Thirty Mile Point in Barker to Irondequoit Bay until 3 p.m.
The strong thunderstorms with higher winds and suddenly higher waves could damage small craft, the Weather Service said.
