Senior trio leads Holley
Anchored by the senior trio of forward Nicole Blackburn, guard Nicole Mauro and forward Lexi Reyngoudt, the Holley girls basketball team is prepping for the Dec. 2 Genesee Region League home opener against Byron-Bergen.
“The girls are very hungry and very focused,” said coach Justin Tese. “They have been working hard to improve. They feel they have something to prove especially the seniors.”
The Lady Hawks are also counting on junior guard/forward Samantha Barniak, sophomore forward Emily Bailey, a transfer from Kendall, junior forward Jade Underwood and eighth grade point guard Luca Fahmer.
“They are very eager to learn and work hard,” said Tese. “The tone and atmosphere in practice has been very positive and encouraging. Our one goal is to keep improving.”
