Semi tests Tuesday for Tigers, Hawks

Photo by Cheryl Wertman – Holley/Kendall’s Dylan Hillabush and his Hawk teammates will face top seeded Mynderse on Tuesday at Canandaigua in the semifinals of the Section V Class B2 playoffs. Lyndonville’s baseball and softball squads will both be in Class D1 semifinal action Tuesday.
The Lyndonville baseball and softball teams and the Holley/Kendall baseball team will all be competing in the semifinal round of the Section V playoffs on Tuesday.
The top seeded Lyndonville baseball squad will face a very familiar foe Genesee Region League rival Notre Dame, in the Class D1 semis at Holley at 4:30 p.m.
The Tigers scored pair of narrow wins over the Irish during the G-R season by scores of 6-4 and 6-3 in route to capturing the Division II title.
It marks the second time in four tears that Lyndonville and Notre Dame have met in the semifinals. The Tigers bested the Irish 7-3 in that previous meeting in 2013.
The No. 1 seeded Lyndonville softball squad will take on No. 5 Alfred-Almond at Batavia High School at 5 p.m.
A win would advance the Lady Tigers to the finals for the fourth year in a row.
The No. 4 seed Holley/Kendall baseball team will face top seeded Mynderse at Cananadaigua High School at 4:30 p.m.
