Sectional quarterfinals next for N-O teams
Five Niagara-Orleans League boys basketball teams will be competing in the quarterfinal round of the Section VI playoffs at noon on Saturday.
In Class B1, No. 3 seed Newfane will host No. 6 Burgard and No. 4 Akron will entertain No. 5 East Aurora.
In Class B2, No. 4 Roy-Hart will host No. 5 Falconer and No. 8 Wilson will travel to No. 1 MST.
In Class C, No. 8 Barker will visit No. 1 Randolph.
Roy-Hart, Newfane and Akron all earned byes into the quarterfinals while Barker nipped Brocton 60-59 and Wilson edged Portville 65-63 in the pre-quarterfinals.
Section VI Girls Quarterfinals Tonight
Four N-O girls teams will be competing in the Section VI quarterfinals at 7 this evening.
In Class B1, No. 4 Akron will host No. 5 Health Sciences and No. 7 Newfane will visit No. 2 East Aurora.
In Class B2, No. 8 Roy-Hart will visit N-O champion top seeded Wilson. Roy-Hart downed Cleveland Hill 37-21 in the pre-quarterfinals.
