Section VI Scholar/Athlete honors for local students

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Medina’s Kelsey Evoy and Anthony Pane are among several local student/athletes who have earned Section VI Scholar/Athlete honors.

Seven area student/athletes have earned first team Section VI Scholar/Athlete honors for the fall season.

Those athletes include Kelsey Evoy (field hockey) and Anthony Pane (soccer) from Medina, Jonathan Trembley (football) from Albion, Melissa Zakrzewski (soccer) from Roy-Hart along with Olivia Denny (field hockey), Bryce Moeller (cross-country) and Nolan Bouchane (cross-country) from Barker.

In addition, over a dozen local athletes have earned honorable mention to the Section VI squad.

Those athletes include Medina soccer players Hayden Allis, Scott Barber, Adam Hoot, Ben Howell and Barry Rogenmoser along with Kelsey Schmitt (soccer), Arianna Smith (soccer) and John Warne (football) from Albion; Alyssa Dodge (soccer), Ashleigh Miller (soccer) and Deanna Pitcher (field hockey) from Roy-Hart and Brooke Bodine (field hockey) and Hayley Richbart (soccer) from Barker.

All-State Honoree
Barber, who earned first team Niagara-Orleans League honors for the second year in a row for the Mustangs and third team All-Western New York honors, has been named to the fifth team of the All-State soccer squad.
