The opponents are the same only the dates have changed.

That is the situation for the Section VI football schedule, a revised edition of which was released today.

Th revisions were made necessary after the recent decision by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) to push back the starting date for fall practice by a full month from August 24 to September 21.

That change in turn has pushed back the first week of games by a full month from the weekend of September 4 and 5 to the weekend of October 2 and 3. The final games of the eight week regular season will now be played on the weekend of November 20-21 which is the weekend before Thanksgiving.

The match ups will all  be the same and in the same order as on the original schedule as Albion will open at Batavia on Friday October 2 and Medina will open at home against East Aurora on Saturday October 3.

The Albion vs. Medina rivalry contest will be played at Medina on Friday November 6.

The sectional semifinals are now scheduled for the weekend of November 27 and 28 and the finals for the weekend of December 4 and 5.

Albion’s schedule is as follows with all games at 7 p.m.

Oct: 2 – at Batavia; 9 – Depew, 16 – at Maryvale, 23 – at Olean, 30 – Lake Shore
