Section VI finalizes football schedule
Given final approval by the Executive Council on Tuesday, the 2017 Section VI Football Federation schedule will find Albion and Roy-Hart/Barker opening at home and Medina/Lyndonville on the road when the season opens on September 1.
Albion will open its schedule in the new Class B2 Division by hosting Springville, Roy-Hart/Barker will entertain Akron in an interdvisional game and Medina/Lyndonville will visit Burgard in another interdivisional contest at Riverside High in Buffalo.
Albion and Springville will be joined in the B2 Division by Dunkirk, Olean, Depew and Fredonia/Westfied/Brocton.
The Purple Eagles will host Olean on Sept. 29 and will visit Depew on Sept. 8, Fredonia/Westfield/Brocton on Sept. 15 at Brocton and Dunkirk on Oct. 6.
Albion will host rival Medina on Oct. 13 to close out the regular season.
Medina/Lyndonville and Roy-Hart/Barker will be joined in the new B3 Division by Newfane, Alden, Tonawanda and Lackawanna.
Medina/Lyndonville will host Newfane on Sept. 15, Lackawanna on Sept. 22 and Roy-Hart/Barker on Sept. 29 . The Mustangs will visit Tonawanda on Sept. 8 and Alden on Oct. 6.
Barker’s B2 schedule will include a Thursday contest at Alden on Sept. 7 and a Saturday contest against Newfane at Barker on Oct. 7.
The Section’s 18 Class B schools have been split into three six team divisions by enrollment for this season. The B1 Division will include East Aurora/Holland, Pioneer, Cheektowaga, Burgard, Lew-Port and Maryvale.
September: 1 – Springville, 8 – at Depew, 15 – vs. Fredonia/Westfield/Brocton at Brocton, 22 – Roy-Hart/Barker, 29 – Olean.
October: 6 – at Dunkirk, 13 – Medina.
September: 1 – vs. Burgard at Riverside, 8 – at Tonawanda, 15 – Newfane, 22 – Lackawanna, 29 – Roy-Hart/Barker.
October: 6 – at Alden, 13 – at Albion.
September: 1 – Akron, 7 – at Alden, 15 – Tonawanda, 22 – at Albion, 29 – at Medina/Lyndonville.
October: 7 – vs. Newfane at Barker, 13 – Lackawanna.
