Section V diamond honors for two Tiger grads
Two Lyndonville High graduates, catcher Cody Dix (Class of 2010) and pitcher Zach Johnson (Class of 2019) have been named to the second team of the Section V small schools All-Decade Baseball Team.
Dix, a four year starter behind the plate for the Tigers, was a three time Genesee Region League All-Star and a first team All-State honoree his senior year.
He hit .519 his senior year with 23 RBI, 14 stolen bases, 9 doubles and 2 triples.
For his career, Dix hit .538 with 136 RBI, a state record 62 doubles, 90 stolen bases and 70 throw outs/pickoffs.
Johnson, who likewise was a four year starter and a three time G-R All-Star, compiled a 20-3 record on the mound for the Tigers. He went 4-1 with 77 strikeouts and a 2.05 era. his junior year and 7-2 with 108 strikeouts and a 0.69 era. his senior year.
An outfielder when not on the mound, Johnson had an average of .447 at the plate over his last three years with a total of 63 RBI, 14 doubles, 8 triples and 4 home runs. He had 27 RBI and a .431 average with 5 doubles, 4 triples and 3 homers his senior year.
