Second quarter sparks Lancers past Tigers
Pulling away in the second quarter, Elba went on to down Lyndonville 67-45 in a Genesee Region League boys basketball game this evening at Lyndonville.
Breaking away from an 11-11 tie, Elba took charge by opening the second period with a 19-3 run including two threes by Ryan Marsceill, a three by Nicholas Scott and a three-point play by Bing Zuber to take a 30-14 lead.
Up 31-20 at the half, the Lancers put a lock on the win by outpointing the Tigers 22-11 in the third period. Scott tallied 16, including four threes, to lead that uprising which vaulted the Lancers out to a commanding 22 point, 53-31, advantage.
Scott finished with 25 and Marsceill 21 to lead the Lancers as Zuber added 9, Jadiel Amaro 7, Brayden Jachimowicz and Mark Caparco 2 and Jason Rowe 1.
Lane Woodworth shared game high honors with 25 for Lyndonville as Lyric Raduns added 10, Juan Alberdi and Atticus Mank 4 and Jacob Pitcher 2.
Lyndonville next hosts Attica at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
