Seahorses win sets the stage for Saturday’s key N-O title meet with Channel Cats

Staying in contention to earn a share of the title, Medina downed visiting Newfane 107-62 in a Niagara-Orleans League boys swim meet this afternoon.

Improving to 8-1, Medina stays within a game of undefeated (9-0) defending champion Roy-Hart which defeated Barker 121-30.

Medina now hosts Roy-Hart at 1 p.m. Saturday in the regular season finale needing a win to claim a share of what would be the Seahorses first ever N-O title.

Isaac Pace was a double winner in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke and Ben Griffin took the 100 Free for Medina.

The Seahorses also captured all three relays as Pace, Griffin, Michael Marker and Xander Payne won the 200 Medley; Payne, Griffin, Austin Tompkins and Gabe Mark the 200 Free and Mark, Tompkins, Jaxon Phillips and Pace the 400 Free.

Ethan Niver was a double winner in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly and Daenon Kopp took both the 200 Free and 500 Free for Newfane which is now 4-5.

Newfane did get a split on the day by winning the girls meet 97-58 as Bridget Martin doubled in the 200 Free and 500 Free and Adoree Nayler in the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke.

Maddy Satkowski won the 100 Free and Madelynn Rutledge the 100 Backstroke for Medina.

Newfane is now 7-2 and Medina 1-8.

Roy-Hart sweeps Barker
Roy-Hart defeated Barker 121-30 in the boys’ meet and 120-42 in the girls’ competition.

Zach Livergood was a double winner in the 100 Free and 100 Backstroke for the Roy-Hart boys while Ryan Santarsiero took both the 200 Free and Breaststroke for Barker.

The Roy-Hart girls had a trio of individual event double winners as Nadia White took the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly, Molly Russell the 500 Free and 100 Backstroke and Mandy Hill the 50 Free and 100 Free.

Akron downs Albion
The Akron girls clinched at least a tie for the N-O title with s 96-58 win over Albion to improve to 8-1.

Kaila Szczygielski doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Free, Shea Masse in the Butterfly and Backstroke and Emma Corbett in the 200 Free and 500 Free to lead the was for the TigerSharks.

The Akron boys completed the sweep by besting Albion 87-80 as Aiden Polkowski took both the IM and Breaststroke and Colton Cleveland the 200 Free and 500 Free.

Finn McCue won both the 50 Free and 100 Free for Albion.
