Medina and Akron split in N-O swim meet

Contributed Photo – Isaac Pace is adding his name to the Medina swim record board after setting a new record time in the 100 Free during this morning’s home pool win over Akron.

Medina split with visiting Akron in a Niagara-Orleans League make-up swim meet this morning.

Medina won the boys’ meet 108-61 and Akron took the girls’ competition 91-46.

Isaac Pace was an individual event double winner for the Medina boys capturing the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Free in a school record time of :50.55.

The Seahorses also had Jaxon Phillips win the 200 Free, Michael Marker the 100 Butterfly and Ben Griffin the 100 Breaststroke.

For Akron, Aiden Polkowski won the 200 Individual Medley, Colton Cleveland the 500 Free and Dawson Stone the 100 Backstroke.

The Seahorses are now 7-1 and the TigerSharks 3-5.

Shae Masse was a double winner for the Akron girls in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly. Emma Corbett won the 50 Free, Emerson Polkowski the 500 Free and Kaila Szczygielski the Backstroke.

Maddy Satkowski won both the 200 Free and 100 Free and Sophia Goyette the 100 Breaststroke for Medina.

Front-running Akron improves to 7-1 and Medina slips to 1-7.
