Seahorses sweep relays at All-League meet

Medina scored a sweep of the three relay events to highlight the annual Niagara-Orleans All-League boys swim championships held this evening at Newfane.

Isaac Pace, Xander Payne, Ben Griffin and Jaxon Phillips teamed up to win both the 200 Free Relay and the 400 Relay events for the Seahorses. The wins both came in school record times of 1:34.38 in the 200 Free and 3:32.85 in the 400 Free. Pace had a state qualfier time of :22.0 for his opening leg of the 200 Free.

Pace, Payne and Griffin also combined with Michael Marker to win the meet opening 200 Medley Relay in a time of 1:48.39.

Pace also won the 100 Breaststroke breaking his own school record with a time of 1:01.29

Barker’s Ryan Santarsiero was a double winner in the 200 Freestyle in 1:55.21 and the 100 Freestyle in :51.13.

Roy-Hart’s Andrew Ossont won the 50 Free in :23.27, Akron’s Aiden Polkowski the 200 Individual Medley in 2:18.58. Newfane’s Ethan Niver the 100 Butterfly in 1:00.22, Newfane’s Noah Kneeland the 500 Free in 5:33.49 and Newfane’s Elijah Thompson the 100 Backstroke in :59.78.

The girls All-League meet will be held on Wednesday at Newfane.
