Seahorses score sweep in opener

Medina swept to a doubleheader victory over host Wheatland-Chili this evening in a season opening non league swim meet.

Medina won the boys meet 108-35 and the girls competition 106-60.

Austin Brown doubled in the 200 individual medley and 100 butterfly and Austin Heil in the 200 and 500 freestyle events to lead the way for the Medina boys squad.

Chase Pecoraro also won the 100 backstroke and Kristian Snyder the 100 breaststroke for the Seahorses.

Emma Gardner doubled in the 50 and 100 freestyle events and Haylee Cogovan took both the individual medley and breaststroke to lead Medina.

Alyssa Beyer also took the 200 free and Andrea Toussaint the 100 butterfly for the Seahorses.

Gardner, Beyer, Krista Nellsit and Mandy McCauley were each on two winning relays.

Medina next hosts Alexander at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

HAC sweeps Albion

Host H-A-C bested Albion winning the boys meet 50-39 and the girl competition 52-34.

Morgan Seielstad won the 500 freestyle and Matthew Kovaleski the breaststroke for the Albion boys.

Elizabeth Furmanski won the 100 free for the Albion girls.

Barker splits with Oakfield-Alabama

Barker defeated host Oakfield-Alabama 63-28 in a non league girls meet as Renee Levy won the 200 free, Christiana Carestia the individual medley, Emma Jenks the 50 free and Grace Weller the 100 backstroke.

Oakfield-Alabama edged Barker 49-43 in the boys meet.

Casey Webb doubled in the 50 free and 100 butterfly and Andrew Jenks the 200 and 500 freestyle events for Barker which also got a win by Collin Webb in the 100 free.

Roy-Hart sweeps Attica

A win in the final relay event by the quartet of Tanner Rees, Mason Sparks, Elliott Spitzer and Ray Sack earned the Roy-Hart boys a narrow 48-45 victory at Attica.

Rees also doubled in the individual medley and the breaststroke as did Sack in the butterfly and 50 freestyle.

Attica downed Roy-Hart in the girls meet.

Alex Hill doubled in the individual medley and butterfly for Roy-Hart.
