Seahorses, Purple Eagles swimmers split

Rivals Albion and Medina both earned a victory this afternoon in a Niagara-Orleans League swim meet at Albion.

Albion won the boys meet 56-38 and Medina took the girls competition 53-41.

A trio of individual event double winners led the way for the Albion boys. Harrison Brown won the 200 Free and 500 Free, Matt Kovaleski the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly and Carlitos Sanchez the 50 Free and 100 Free as Thomas Furmanski added a win in the 100 Backstroke.

Kristian Snyder won the 100 Breaststroke for Medina.

Albion is now 2-0 and Medina 1-1.

The Medina girls were sparked by wins by Hannah Heil (50 Free), Alyssa Beyer (500 Free), Olivia Carter (100 Backstroke) and Martha Gardner (100 Breaststroke). Carter, Gardner and Heil also teamed up with Brooklyn Brown to win the 200 Medley Relay. Beyer and Carter also combined with Brianna McMullen and Ashlee Howell to win the 200 Free Relay.

For Albion, Liz Furmanski was a double winner in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Free and Michaela Pantano won both the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly.

Medina is now 1-1 and Albion 0-2.
