Seahorses earn split with TigerSharks

Ray Paull competes in the 100 Breaststroke for Medina.

Taking first place in 8 of 11 events, Medina defeated visiting Akron 116-53 this afternoon to regain the .500 mark at 2-2 in Niagara-Orleans League boys swim competition.

Mason Pecoraro was a double winner in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Backstroke and Kristian Snyder took both the 50 Free and 100 Breaststroke for the Seahorses as Jack Hill added a win in the 100 Free.

The Seahorses also swept all three relay events as Daniel Heil, Ray Paull, Powell Stephens and Hill teamed up to take the 200 Medley; Hill, Daniel Heil, Hunter Heil and Pecoraro the 200 Free and Kevin Capstick, Stephens, Xander Payne and Paull the 400 Free.

The loss drops Akron to 0-4.

Akron earned a split on the day by winning the girls competition 113-57 to improve to 3-1.

Hannah Heil won the 50 Free and also teamed up with Olivia Carter, Martha Gardner and Brooklyn Brown to take the 200 Medley Relay for Medina which slips to 1-3.

Barker, Newfane split
Barker defeated Newfane 95-70 to improve to 2-1 in N-O boys swim action.

Andrew Jenks doubled in the 200 Free and 500 Free and Collin Webb in the 50 Free and 100 Free for Barker.

Drew Hamelink won both the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke for Newfane which slips to 1-3.

Defending champion Newfane won the girls meet 103-62 to stay perfect at 4-0.

Lauren Gaughran was a double winner for Newfane in the 200 Free and 500 Free.

Sara Gendrue took both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke for Barker which is now 1-2.

Roy-Hart sweeps Albion
The defending champion Roy-Hart boys team downed host Albion 55-39 to go to 3-0 as Nate Mikoll doubled in the 50 Free and 100 Free.

Matt Kovaeski won both the 200 Free and 100 Butterfly for Albion which is now 3-1.

The Roy-Hart girls improved to 2-1 by besting Albion (0-4) 72-24 as Kayla Hagen doubled in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Backstroke.
