Closings and cancellations for today
• The Orleans County Planning Board has cancelled its regularly scheduled February meeting for tonight due to inclement weather.
• The choir rehearsal for the PACT Easter Cantata is cancelled today. The group was scheduled to be at Harvest Christian Fellowship in Albion at 6:30 p.m.
• Albion and Medina schools are closed today.
A winter storm warning is in effect until 1 p.m. in Orleans County with moderate to heavy snow with 3 to 6 inches expected.
A winter weather advisory then follows from 1 p.m. today until 4 p.m. Friday with additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo.
Winds gusting as high as 55 miles per hour will result in blowing and drifting snow with greatly reduced
visibility from Thursday morning through Friday, the Weather Service said.
