Scattered thunderstorms headed to eastern Orleans, surrounding counties

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a special weather statement, saying a a line of scattered thunderstorms will affect northern Wyoming, eastern Orleans, Genesee and northwestern Monroe counties until 9:15 tonight.

At 8:30 p.m., the Weather Service radar indicated thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Point Breeze to near Varysburg.

Winds in excess of 30 miles per hour are possible, along with brief torrential downpours and frequent lightning.
