Sandstone scores two shutout wins
Sandstone scored a pair of shutout wins last week, 7-0 over Barre and 3-0 over Rotary, to complete an 8-0 regular season in the Albion Midget League.
Brayden LaMartina and Omer Fugate each pitched 3 innings in the win over Barre registering a total of 14 strikeouts.
At the plate, Elliott Slocum had a two-run single and Landon Gallagher an RBI single in the first inning. Rocco Sidari added an RBI double in the second inning and Aiden Kelly an RBI single in the sixth.
Fugate then registered 15 strikeouts in 5 innings of work on the mound against Rotary.
Brayden Lindke had the big hit with a three-run double in the third inning. LaMartina also had 2 hits.
In another game, Carlton edged Elba 9-8 as Hayden Cowley drove in the winning run and Jack Conn belted a pair of home runs.
