Sandstone nips Barre for 10U playoff title

Sandstone edged past Barre 4-3 this evening in the Albion Midget League 10U Division playoff championship game at Sandstone.
Sandstone scored a quick run in the first inning on an RBI single by Eli Johnson and tacked on two more in the third on doubles by Garrett Smith and Rocco Sidari and a single by Tyler Siebert to make it 3-0.
Sandstone then scored what proved to be the game winner in the fourth inning as Nikko Russo singled and came home on a double by Smith.
Barre rallied for three runs in the sixth inning on an RBI double by Viktor Snyder and a two-run double by AJ Sullivan but the comeback bid fell just short.
