Carlton though battled back to within one on a two-run home run by Finn McCue in the sixth inning.  Carlton then got the bases loaded before Sandstone shortstop Elliot Trapiss came up with a big defensive play to get the final out and preserve the win.

Earlier in the game Sandstone scored 3 times in the third inning as Krenning and Lowe both had doubles and then twice in the fourth on a two-run double by Martino.

Carlton tied the game at 5-5 with three tallies in the fifth highlighted by a two-run triple by Lee Fleck.
