Sandstone downs Actives to capture Albion Midget League playoff title

One big scoring inning keyed Sandstone to a 10-2 victory over Actives in the Albion Midget League playoff championship game this afternoon at the Midget League Field.
Leading by a narrow 2-1 margin, Sandstone exploded for eight runs in the fourth inning to take control.
Mike DiCureia spearheaded that uprising with a bases clearing three-run triple and a double. He also had an RBI single earlier in the game.
The decisive uprising was also highlighted by a two-run single by Bailey Blanchard and an RBI double by Zach Colacecchi.
Sandstone, which finishes the season at 17-0, broke away from an early 1-1 deadlock on a solo home run by Isaiah Callicutt in the third inning.
Vincent Zona picked up the win on the mound for Sandstone giving up three hits and striking out 10.
Caleb Fox had an RBI double for Actives.
