After a number of sectional rules interpretors were consulted, it was determined that late in the match Medina had used a wrestler who was ineligible to compete at that weight class. As a result of that use of an ineligible wrestler, the final score of the match has Albion defeating Medina 1-0. The original score had the Purple Eagles downing the Mustangs 42-39,

Interestingly, the bout in question had no bearing on the outcome of the match as Albion held an unbeatable 15 point, 42-27, lead going into the final two bouts when the infraction occurred.

In the other N-O matches, Newfane (4-0) defeated Barker/Roy-Hart (0-4) 69-15 and Akron/Alden (3-1) downed Wilson (1-3) 62-18
