Salamanca trims Medina stickmen

A big third period scoring surge keyed Salamanca to a 12-8 win over visiting Medina this afternoon in a Class D Division lacrosse game.

Breaking away from a 5-5 halftime deadlock, the Warriors took command by outscoring the Mustangs 5-1 in the decisive third period to open up a 10-6 lead.

Christian Silversmith had 4 goals, Mitchell Silversmith 2 and Thomas Vasquez and Cayden Lilleby 1 each for Medina.

Wesley Hughes made several key saves in goal for the Mustangs.

Medina is now 2-2 in the division and 3-5 overall.
