Salamanca surges past Medina stickmen

A big third period scoring burst keyed Salamanca to a come-from-behind 15-9 victory over Medina this evening in a Class C Division lacrosse game at Vets Park.

Trailing 6-5 at the half, Salamanca rallied to outscore Medina 7-1 in the decisive third period to open up a commanding 12-7 advantage.

Kyle Barna and Tyler Valley both had four goals and Brett Pecoraro one for Medina.

Barna netted three goals in the first period to help keep Medina even at 4-4 as Pecoraro had the other tally.

Barna and Valley then each scored a goal in the second period to give the Mustangs the short lived 6-5 lead.

Salamanca improves to 5-0 in the division and 6-1 overall while Medina slips to 1-6, 4-7.
