Salamanca stickmen top Medina

Pulling away in the second quarter, Salamanca went on to defeat visiting Medina 22-11 this afternoon in a Class C Division lacrosse game.

Leading by a narrow 5-4 margin, Salamanca outscored Medina 6-1 in the decisive second period to open up an 11-5 advantage at the half.

The Warriors went on to hold a 16-9 advantage at the three-quarter mark.

“We just didn’t play well defensively,” said Medina Coach Gordy Luthart.

Jake Cotter scored 7 goals for Medina as Brett Pecoraro netted 2 and Brandan Luthart and Tyler Valley 1 each.

Now at 3-4 in the division and 6-4 overall, Medina next hosts Eden at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
