Salamanca stickmen oust Medina in semis
Pulling away over the middle two periods, top seeded Salamanca posted a 17-10 victory over visiting No. 4 Medina this evening in the semifinal round of the Section VI Class D lacrosse playoffs.
Leading by a narrow 4-2 margin after the opening quarter, Salamanca outscored Medina 10-4 over the middle two periods to open up a commanding 14-6 advantage heading into the final quarter.
Chaise Prest and Christian Silversmith both scored 3 goals for Medina as Zach Blount added 2 and Mitchell Silversmith and Tommy Vasquez 1 each.
In the other semifinal, No. 3 Eden defeated No. 2 Akron 11-6.
