Safety is focus of youth football camp

Several dozen youthful gridiron enthusiasts took part in the opening session of the Albion Football Camp Thursday evening which is putting the emphasis on player safety and proper techniques of blocking and tackling. The program is being held in conjunction with the NFL’s USA Football Heads Up program for player safety. Here Coach DJ Moore works with some of the young players on developing a proper stance.

Coach DJ Moore here gives the youngsters some instruction during a blocking drill. The Albion camp continues this evening at Bullard Park. The first session included conditioning exercises, work on the proper stance and then practicing defensive techniques at several stations.
