Russo and Martillotta make college picks

Photos by Cheryl Wertman – Two Roy-Hart seniors, Thomas Russo ,left, and Peter Martillotta, signed letters of intent this week to continue their education and sports careers at the collegiate level. Russo signed to attend Canisius College where he will continue his baseball career and major in Physical Education. The Niagara-Orleans League Player of the Year and a first team All-Western New York honoree last spring he struck out 136 and allowed only 4 earned runs on the mound and hit .417 with 36 RBIs at the plate to help the Rams earn a share of the N-O title. Martillotta has signed to continue his soccer career at Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y where he will major in Physical Education. A three-time first team N-O All-League honoree and a two-time N-O Player of the Year, Martillotta scored 40 goals this season. He has scored a total of 70 goals over the past three seasons during which time the Rams have claimed the league title each year.
