Roy-Hart rolls into Class B2 semis

Jumping out to a 17-8 first quarter lead, No. 2 seed Roy-Hart went on to defeat visiting No. 7 MST Seneca of Buffalo 57-45 this evening in the quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class B2 playoffs.

Andy Xapsos scored 22, Justin Heschke 13 and Chris Anderson 10 to spark the attack for Roy-Hart which will next face No. 6 Fredonia in the B2 semifinals next Wednesday at Buffalo State College.

Anderson also grabbed off 10 rebounds and Heschke 8.

Xapsos scored 6, Heschke 4 and Ben Maynard hit a big 3 to spark Roy-Hart out to the 17-8 first period lead as the Rams made good on 8 of 11 field goal attempts during that stretch.

The Rams went on to hold leads of 25-20 at the half and 41-31 at the three-quarter mark.

Xapsos then scored 7, including 5 of 6 from the line, and Anderson 4 in the final period to help the Rams lock up the win.

Roy-Hart will take a 16-5 record into the semifinals.

Class C2

Randolph 78, Barker 35
In a Class C2 quarterfinal, No. 5 Barker lost 78-35 to No. 4 Randolph.

Nate Luckman scored 16 and Jake Arnold 8 for Barker.
