Roy-Hart posts Midget ‘A’ shutout

Moving back above the .500 mark at 4-3, Roy-Hart blanked host Lockport 8-0 this evening in a Lockport Midget ‘A’ League game.
Rain washed out the Albion at Medina and Akron at Lyndonville contests.
Joe Nolan hurled a 3 hit shutout with 7 strikeouts for Roy-Hart which avenged a narrow 3-2 loss in the season opener.
Aaron Metz, CJ Fitch and Eric Fitch each had 2 hits to lead Roy-Hart at the plate.
Doubles by Metz and Eric Fitch keyed a three-run third inning scoring burst.
Metz also had an RBI single in the first and CJ Fitch an RBI double in the sixth.
Eric Fitch added a run producing double and Aaron Metz an RBI single in the seventh inning to lock up the win.
Midget ‘A’ action is scheduled to continue on July 14 with Lyndonville at Roy-Hart, Medina at Akron and Wheatland-Cambria at Albion, all at 6 p.m.
