Displaying plenty of firepower, Roy-Hart opened the Niagara-Orleans League girls soccer season with a 7-2 victory over Medina this evening at Gasport.

Emma Lindke scored three goals and Amber Villella two to spearhead the Roy-Hart attack which also included goals by Kaleigh Kuzma and Ava Bligh.

Destiny Satkowski scored both Medina goals.

Medina’s Destiny Satkowski works to gain control of the ball against Roy-Hart’s Rachael Rausch.

Satkowski in fact gave Medina a quick 1-0 lead with a goal just four minutes into the contest.

However, Roy-Hart got right back in the game as Lindke scored two lightning quick goals within a span of just 22 seconds. She first scored on a penalty kick at 33:18 and then on a line drive shot at 32:56.

Medina did retie the contest at 2-2 10 minutes later on a goal by Satkowski but the Mustangs could not regain the lead.

Roy-Hart’s Ellie Todd kicks the ball toward the goal as Allie Bensley(12) and Martha Gardner (3) defend for Medina.

Roy-Hart moved back on top to stay when Kuzma scored with 16:26 to go in the opening half.

Villella then gave the Lady Rams a 4-2 lead at the half when she tallied with 8:01 remaining.

The Lady Rams then pulled away down the stretch on late goals by Bligh, Villella and Lindke.

Roy-Hart next faces host Holley at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the opening round of the Lady Hawks Tournament.

Medina next visits Newfane at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
