Roy-Hart blanks Lackawanna in softball sectional quarterfinal

Top seeded Niagara-Orleans League champion Roy-Hart blanked visiting No. 8 Lackawanna 4-0 this afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the Section VI Class B2 softball playoffs.
Taylor Fry hurled a 3 hitter with 8 strikeouts to lead the way for Roy-Hart.
Lindsay Yates had the big bat for the Lady Rams driving in one run with a double in the second inning and another with a triple in the fourth frame following a single by Hannah Rausch.
Roy-Hart also picked up a second run in the fourth on and error and later added an insurance tally in the sixth as Rachael Rausch doubled and came home on an error.
Lackawanna did get the bases loaded in the sixth but Roy-Hart got out of the jam on a ground out to Hannah Rausch at second base.
Roy-Hart will next host the winner of the No. 5 Falconer vs. No. 4 Cleveland Hill game in the semifinals on May 26.
