Roy-Hart/Barker/Medina hockey team rallies late to win home opener over Lancaster
Putting together a big final period scoring surge, the Roy-Hart/Barker/Medina Club ice hockey team won their home opener defeating Lancaster 6-4 Wednesday evening at the Cornerstone Arena in Lockport.
The Kuchey Brothers (Roy-Hart), Michael and Jason, spearheaded the attack by tallying a total of five goals.
Joe DiBenedetto (R-H) opened the scoring late in the first period, but Lancaster answered just two minutes later to tie the game on a goal with RBM two men short.
Just a few seconds later, Michael Kuchey scored a short-handed goal, but Lancaster again used the power play to tie the game 2-2 at the end of the period.
The second period saw Michael Kuchey give RBM the lead, but Lancaster scored two later in the period for a 4-3 advantage.
However, the final period was all RMB as Michael Kuchey scored two goals and Jason Kuchey scored one.
Now at 3-4, RBM’s next game is Saturday at 5:10 p.m. against Wilson- Newfane at the Cornerstone Arena.
