Returning to guide his alma mater, Matt McCauley has taken over as the new coach for the Roy-Hart/Barker wrestling team.

McCauley, a Roy-Hart grad, was a four-time Niagara-Orleans League champion during his scholastic wrestling days with the Rams.

“Our numbers are a little low but we’ve got a good returning group and they are working hard,” said McCauley.

Leading the way for Roy-Hart/Barker are seniors Ben  Schwab, who won the 220 lb. title and Tyler Choate, who placed second at 152 at last year’s Niagara-Orleans All-League Tournament.

The team’s other veterans include senior Aiden Haley and junior Andrew Schafer.

Roy-Hart/Barker, which went 2-3 in N-O competition last year, is slated to begin the league season at Wilson on December 6.
