Roy-Hart trims Eden in Class B2 opener
Jumping out to a 13 point first quarter lead, No. 10 seed Roy-Hart went on to edge visiting No. 15 Eden 51-45 this evening in the opening round of the Section VI Class B2 boys basketball tournament.
Threes by Jacob Bruning and DJ Davis, along with a layup off a steal by Noah Kindron, helped spark Roy-Hart out to a 16-3 first period lead.
The Rams went on to hold leads of 27-14 at the half and 41-24 at the three-quarter mark. Kindron had a pair of layups off steals to lead the Rams in the third period.
However, Eden came rallying back with a 21-10 fourth period scoring edge to close to within five, 45-40.
Roy-Hart though turned back the challenge as Davis hit a huge three to give the Rams an 8 point, 48-40, lead. Kindron also hit four key free throws down the stretch.
Bruning finished with 15, Davis 14 and Kindron 12.
Roy-Hart next visits No. 7 Lafayette on Wednesday.
In another B2 opener, No. 14 Oracle downed No. 11 Akron 60-54.
