Roy-Hart track teams prep for N-O season

Looking to improve upon last year’s third place finishes the Roy-Hart boys and girls track teams are getting set for the Niagara-Orleans League opening meet at Wilson on April 16.

Both Rams squad posted 4-2 N-O records last spring.

Leading the boys squad are seniors Jack Johnson (Pentathlon), Jayden Swygert (Sprints), Jackson Webber (Throws) and Nick Armenia (Hurdles) along with juniors Ronan Klug (800), Josiah Rodriguez (1600), Matt VanKeuren (3200), Daniel Moore (Throws) and Jackson West (Throws).

Johnson won the Pentathlon at last year’s N-O All-League meet while Swygert took second in the Triple Jump, Rodriguez third in the 1600, Klug fifth in the 400 and VanKeuren fifth in the 3200.

The Roy-Hart girls squad is led by seniors Julia Miles (Hurdles, Jumps), Sophia Santella (Pole Vault), Izzy Cacciatore (Sprints) and Elliana Braun along with sophomores Kylie McOmber (Jumps) and Brooke Zglinicki (800) and freshmen Addison Carr (800) and Marissa Bryant (3000).

Miles won the High Jump and placed fourth in the 400 Hurdles and fifth in the 100 Hurdles at the All-League meet. Carr took second in the 800, Bryant fourth in the 3000, McOmber fourth in the Triple Jump and Santella fourth in the Pole Vault.
